Congressman James Greenwood will read synopsis of Fries Rebellion into Congressional Record.
Richard Helm, will speak on the arrest of John Fries.

MARCH 7, 1999 . MARCH IN BETHLEHEM TO THE SUN INN

Lower Saucon Conservancy. Woodsmen, retired militia members, etc.,
Re-enactment of John Fries as leader of men coming to the rescue of friends and neighbors - the prisoners
who had been arrested because of refusal to allow assessment of their properties for the 1798 federal tax.
Re-enactors will meet at 12:15 PM with Henry Bennick, Jr. (Saucon Valley Conservancy) and Richard Helm (as John Fries)
to organize and stage re-enactment.
Prisoners will be taken inside the Sun Inn at 12:45 pm
Fries' contingent will encircle the Sun Inn at 1:00 pm
Re-enactment at Sun Inn, hosted by Preservation Assoc. Contact is Charles Hafner.
Richard Helm will speak as John Fries and the prisoners will be released to Fries and his group.

Congressman, Honorable Patrick J. Toomey, comments and reflection on the rebellion
and the relationship of taxation to personal freedom. 2:00 pm.

Peggy Adams will conduct signing and sale of the W. W. H. Davis, Fries Rebellion book, published in 1899,
republished and illustrated as a Bi-centennial Edition, by Harry C. Adams of Adams Apple Press.

First Continental Regiment of Montgomery County will be the official militia representing the Bucks County contingent.

MARCH 6, 1999 . MEETING OF AREA RESIDENTS AT SPINNERSTOWN HOTEL

Sleepy Hollow Road and Spinnerstown Road
11:15 am. Re-enactment of local resident complaints about assessors,
and mobilization for the march to the Sun Inn to join others and free the prisoners.
