Watercolor… This is not the first light tower on Morris Island… though this one, built in 1876, has suffered the immense indignity of loosing all of it’s actual land mass… and the Keeper’s House and all of the other buildings and facilities that once stood on what once was… Morris Island, South Carolina. All gone now… to relentless Atlantic erosion. Morris Island Light was decommissioned in 1962. It looks a bit forlorn and rough around the edges… but she continues to stand tall… if a bit off shore.
