Watercolor… also known as the Iron Hill Bridge, the 81-foot, Town Truss, Pine Valley Bridge was built by David Sutton in 1842. Crossing Pine Run Creek, in New Britain Borough, it is the 2nd oldest covered bridge in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Pine Valley Covered Bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The bridge has survived numerous, hard truck hits and several arson attempts (1911 & 1968) over the years. The original roof was replaced in 2007, following damage from a truck that ignored and exceeded its posted height limitations. This is a recurring issue with these old covered bridges. Spring 2021.
