Santa Fe EMD F7A: 312

Watercolor… this particular illustration of Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railway (AT&SF), F7 #312, gliding effortlessly through a wide open expanse of the American Southwest, is a painting of the Märklin LGB, G guage, A-B-A, era III, express passenger, large scaled model train set.

The General Motors (GM), Electro Motive Division (EMD) series F7, diesel electric locomotive, on which these Märklin F units are modeled, was produced from 1949 to 1954. The Santa Fe purchased 215 A Units and 246 B Units of the F7 between 1949 and 1953… 57 of the A Units and 88 B’s were painted in Leland A. Knickerbocker’s, brilliant and legendary, red, yelow & black, over stainless steel, warbonnet livery.
